Pastor Cox recieved the Holy Ghost on Oct. 19, 1978, in Jacksonville Fla. at the age of 16. He has been in the ministry full time since Jan. 1990. He and his family evangelized four and a half years before becoming pastor of a wonderful church in Yucaipa, CA. in Aug. of 1994. He pastored there for eleven and a half years. While in Yucaipa he served as the sectional secretary for section two. He also served as the Regional Foreign Missions Director for Southern California and Southern Nevada. He was appointed by the UPCI Headquarters Foreign Mission Department as the Western Regional Faith Promise Representative which included (California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington State). He resigned as pastor in Yucaipa, CA on Feb. 1, 2006 and moved to Florissant, MO, (Headquarters) to serve as a Faith Promise Representative nation wide. He and his family were elected as pastor in Abbeville, LA on Feb. 28, 2007. He served as the Foreign Mission Director of sections 2 & 3. in Southern LA. The Church Has grown in 2 1/2 years from 18 in attendance (in which 4 of them are left) to around 80 (To God be ALL the Glory). Pastor Cox is thrilled to be in Abbeville and especially thankful to God for what is happening here in the church.
Sis. Cox was raised in a wonderful christian home in TX. She received the Holy Ghost at the age of eleven years old. She's been singing and leading choirs since she was a teenager. She's been a tremendous blessing to her husbands ministry and a wonderful mother to her children. She's such a Godly example as a pastors wife and to ladies everywhere. She's the piano player in our church as well as lead singer . God smiled on the church of Abbeville when He gave them Sis. Cox as the 1st lady.
Nathan & Allison Cox - Assistant Pastor and Youth Leader. Nathan & Allison are a right hand help to their Pastor. Nathan leads service, plays the drums and is the youth leader. Nathan is a powerful, annointed minister of the gospel. He is a soul winner and there are families in our church that he has won. He works as a teller at Capital One Bank.His wife Allison sings, teaches Wed. Night childrens class, and helps organize youth events & outreach. They have a wonderful, loving, & compassionate spirit and personality that every one is attracted to. We are blessed to have Nathan & Allison at the 1st U.P.C. of Abbeville.
Kathryn Boneski - Choir Director Sis. Boneski is doing a tremendous job leading our choir. Her love for God and His church and singing bleeds through as she leads the choir each week. She is also a Praise Singer and Sunday School teacher. We are blessed to have her in the Abbeville Pentecostal Church.
Virginia Maze - Drama and Skit Leader Sis. Virginia is a wonderful young lady that loves God with all of her heart. She is very talented and creative with dramas and skits.
Julie Fontenot - Church Secretary Sis. Fontenot is an outstanding Church Secretary. She is also a Sunday School Teacher. We are blessed to have her at the Abbeville Pentecostal church.
Mandy Tudor - Special Event Recognition Coordinator Sis. Tudor coordinates any special events or special recognition for the Pastor and his family. She is the Foreign Mission Promoter and a Sunday School teacher.
T-Boy Vincent - Special Dinner Coordinator & Church Maintenance Captain Bro. T-Boy is the kitchen coordinator for all special dinners, events and banquets. He is a tremendous chef (and he's not a sissy). He is also the church maintenance man and does a tremendous job at everything he does for the church. He's a righthand man to the pastor and his family. We are blessed to have him in our church.
